Being Boring (February 2026 Bear Blog Carnival)
The Bear Blog Carnival theme for February 2026 is...boredom:
Are you ever bored, what do you do when you are feeling bored or are we even capable of feeling bored in this age of limitless digital entertainment? Source
Boredom for me is when I am not satisfied with my actions. These could be actions in and of themselves, or distractions from actions which in turn become actions.
if you're never bored, you're always distracted. Source
Boredom often happens to me, though I should not talk of boredom as an active force that takes over a passive me. I respond by being active, to do something else that isn't boring.
She said we were never feeling bored
’cause we were never being boring

Boredom is a blow against the march of time, which moves without pity or reflection.
Boredom says there is time to reflect upon what you are doing, without the immediate feeling of having to act upon it. Actions often follow reflection, but not always.
Boredom is a weapon you must use carefully, as it can be turned against you.
Boredom can lead to discovery or despair.
Boredom can spiral. Doing something that isn't boring can soon become boring in itself, leading to more actions and reactions. Boredom is an answer to a question that can lead to more questions needing answers.
Boredom is a way to criticize yourself and your surroundings, with either audience being at risk of disapproving your criticisms.
Boredom can happen in an analog world, a digital world, or in a mixture of both. There’s no specific place where it can or cannot occur.
Boredom can defeat limitless digital entertainment, but it can also lose out to a singular analog experience.

Boredom is inescapable, except by death.
Boredom is a consequence of being alive, and is as a part of the human experience as breathing or having blood flow within your body.
Boredom precedes us and will be around long after we are gone. It will never disappear from the human condition, though how boredom is treated says a lot about that particular moment in time.
Boredom is neither bad nor good, but a state of being.
