Random thoughts too long for a Mastodon post, but not long enough for a full-blown post.
- π½οΈ After applying the three-sip rule to Caira, I can now say with confidence that this product is not for me. Itβs still a neat concept, but thereβs a wide gap between concept and real-world usage that Caira fails to fulfill. On top of this gap, the questions posed a while ago by PetaPixel remain valid: Who is the target audience for Caira? What does Caira accomplish that a smartphone cannot? Iβll have to figure out what to do with my Caira unit and lens later on. Perhaps someone else could buy the set on the cheap and be more resourceful with it than what Iβve been able to do.
- π’ The best term I can think of when seeing the physical mess in Washington, besides the rolling metaphor of the Reflecting Pool, is that our president is the Slumlord-in-Chief. Itβs a family tradition, after all.
- π’ My last time in the home office was back in November 2025. Apparently, a compensation mode is in full effect, as I will be onsite twice over a period of three working days. I met B., the new team employee, on Friday 06-19, along with everyone else for a few hours of actually productive work. On Tuesday 06-23, I will attend a social for my bossβ boss, R., who will be retiring at the end of the month (though the main reason to show up will be to complete my monitor swap I started last Friday).
- π«― Back in late 2025, I had a dentist visit that featured a new-to-me dental hygienist. I believe she may have skipped a step in the cleaning process, because for the first time that I can recall, my teeth had noticeable staining afterwards. After my first appointment this year, I have searched for ways to keep those stains from recurring, so I have made a return to the 70s and 80s lifestyle and have incorporated chewing gum in my day. Itβs a bit of a workout for my jaw, but so far, my teeth remain pretty clean.
