Week Notes, 2025-04-06
Weekly Features from March 31st - April 6th:
π Last week was a bit of a breather compared to the crazy week before. Instead of riding the highs from my first anniversary at my current job or the long saga of my in-lawsβ return to Florida, I finally had some time to organize and relax. The upcoming week, however, will fly by for one big reason mentioned below.
π©Ί Tuesday 04-01 saw me have a dermatology review for the first time in almost 10 years. The only spots that gave me a bit of a fright were slow-healing scratches and a heavy bruise mark on my foot that strangely never hurt. At least thereβs nothing serious to worry about. Just like my cardiologist appointment last month, Iβll now have to visit the dermatologist every year--such are the joys of aging. On Wednesday 04-09, I'll make my first visit with a doctor who shall be, if all goes well, my PCP going forward.
π½π¦ Next weekend will be a solo trip to Iowa! Yes, it gets an exclamation point and TWO emojis! I was in a fraternity at my college, and 2025 happens to be the 50th anniversary of said fraternity. There are plans to commemorate this anniversary at the annual Homecoming in October, but current fraternity1 members have organized a celebration close to the actual formation date from 1975. Iowa isn't as far along into spring as is Missouri, but that also means less airborne material causing me to sneeze. On the other hand, the forecast calls for warmer and drier weather, which should add to the enjoyment of the activities and socializing.

- The big test was swapping browsers on my iPhone and Mac to Orion, which has gone by OK so far; extensions on the Mac are 50/50, while tab management on the iPhone requires new muscle memory
π₯ Health:
- See second paragraph at beginning of post
As can be seen in the 2024 pledging photo, fourth in the slide show, the Newts have become a co-ed fraternity, which is not uncommon at Cornell College.↩
