Take 5, D.

Week Notes, 2025-07-13

Weekly Features from July 7th - July 13th:

πŸ”• It was a quiet week overall, with the holiday hangover in effect for both the home and work life. There weren't any major events that took place last week, though a few small ones occurred here and there.

⛰️ I discovered an old photo from 2009 is being used on the Wikipedia entry for New Hampshire. The photo of Lake Winnipesaukee and the Ossipee Mountains was one I shot from the top of Abenaki Tower during a September visit.

🍸 Speaking of photos, my Series on Glass highlighting the Pentax K-x years is now complete. The next camera, the Olympus OM-D EM-5, will require some serious review, as trading in the Pentax for the Olympus was a big mistake. My disenchantment with the camera was evident in the decreasing number of photos I took with it, as I fell for its hipster retro vibe and discovered too late that its appearance was its best feature.

πŸ‘¨πŸ»β€πŸ’» All of my photography review has prompted a revamp of my photo software. I have tested a few programs here and there, but I have returned to using Photomator on both the Mac and iPhone. Glad I never canceled its recurring subscription!

πŸ’» Next week, I will mix up my schedule to work a partial day at a remote location, be it a coffee shop, or somewhere else. I could benefit from a change in scenery.

πŸ“ Finally, I was inspired by Jedda to dig up some LiveJournal entries as part of my Unarchive series. My first unearthing is an entry from 2006, back when I turned the "ripe old age" of 35.
